De Martino 'Viejas Tinajas' Cinsault, Itata
When we showed the sister white wine to this red, at the Oxford Wine Festival in 2016, it got everyone talking and we promptly sold out. Made in a low-intervention way the grapes are crushed, put in large open-top terracotta amphorae to ferment with the grape skins, and bottled un-fined and un-filtered, with minimal sulphur added.
The result is a light purple-red wine with delicate aromas of raspberry and cherry attractively mixing with earthy, floral, and herbal notes. It is fresh and persistent on the palate. We're delighted to be able to offer this to the good folk of Oxfordshire and beyond.
