Europe is known for its interesting and plentiful wine regions. One such region goes by the name
of Bulgaria - a small country with a rich and ancient history. It is located in the eastern part of
the Balkan peninsula including parts of the historical regions of Mizia, Thrace and Macedonia.
Bulgaria is thought to be the most successful producer of wines amongst the Eastern European
countries, having preserved the traditions inherited in viticulture since the time of the Thracians
- the so called sommeliers of the Roman Empire.
Join us and our good friends from The Jolly Merchants on a small journey through Bulgaria and
its wines. Arguably, it is one of the last undiscovered corners of the wine world and yet based on
a long and authentic history and full of genuinely interesting wine stories and producers. We
look forward to having the opportunity to share them with you.
